What are the types of toothbrushes? How to choose?

01 Ordinary toothbrush
According to the shape of the brush head, it can be divided into square brush head and diamond brush head.
Square brush head: can effectively clean every surface of teeth.
Diamond shaped brush head: The end of the brush head is designed to be pointed, making it easier to clean deep into the mouth.
According to the arrangement of bristles, they can be divided into flat shape, wavy shape, and V-shaped shape. Among them, wavy/V-shaped shape is more likely to contact adjacent teeth. The bristles of this type have longer ends and can effectively clean difficult to brush areas.
According to the brush handle, it can be divided into straight handle, crank handle, elastic handle, anti slip handle, etc
Straight handle: It is relatively easy to use.
Crank: a dental tool that is said to penetrate into areas of the mouth that are difficult to reach.
Elastic handle: It is said to prevent gum damage caused by excessive pressure of the toothbrush on the gums.
Anti slip handle: This type of design has anti slip function to prevent the toothbrush from falling off during brushing.
According to the bristle material, bristles are often made of nylon thread. It can be divided into two types: ordinary silk and DuPont silk. Dupont silk has good elasticity and is not easy to collapse.
02 Electric toothbrush
Through the rapid rotation or vibration of the motor core, it makes the brush head produce high-frequency vibration, instantly decomposes the toothpaste into fine foam, and deeply cleans the gap between teeth. At the same time, the vibration of the brush hair can promote the blood circulation in the oral cavity, and has a massage effect on the gingival tissue.
Several methods to teach you how to choose a toothbrush
1. Brush head: For Asians, a small head toothbrush is the most suitable. Compared to Europeans, Asians have smaller mouth openings, larger brush heads, and many positions that cannot be reached, which may also damage the oral mucosa. There is no strict standard for the small head, generally referring to the effective length of the bristles being about 1-1.2 times the distance between the two front teeth, and the height of the bristles being basically the same as the height of the front teeth. Everyone's oral and dental conditions are different, and the size of the brush head naturally varies from person to person. Therefore, when purchasing a toothbrush, it is important to compare one's own oral and dental conditions;
2. Brushing: First, stand the toothbrush up and look at the teeth from the side. If it is neat and has no inverted bristles, it means that the toothbrush is very good. If it is not neat enough or has inverted bristles, do not purchase it. Secondly, look at the tips of the bristles. Don't choose a toothbrush that is too sharp, especially a fine bristled toothbrush. A brush that is too sharp, like a blade, can easily damage the gums;
3. The softness and hardness of the bristles: Use your hands to feel the softness and hardness of the bristles. Gently press the back of the hand with the brush head until it turns slightly white, rub back and forth, and feel a little, indicating that the hardness is just right. If there is a stinging sensation, it indicates that the bristles are too hard and can damage the gums; If it feels minimal, it means the bristles are too soft and difficult to clean thoroughly. Please note that if your teeth are healthy, you can choose a toothbrush with normal hardness. If your teeth are sensitive and painful when exposed to cold, hot, sour, sweet, and sour, you should choose a softer toothbrush.
